Classic Caps and Partnering with the WBENC
Classic Caps started with a dream of Jacob Pasternak, back in 1928. He only had one sewing machine and a one-room office in Downtown Dallas. They cut and sewed just about anything! The mailman's headwear, the surgical hats, the baseball caps, for years! Little by little they started to branch out and produce patches as well, and little by little they started importing their products from overseas.
Rosalie Pasternak started working for her father at the young age of 16 and eventually, the business was handed down to her. Valerie, the present owner of Classic Caps, started her working career as an elementary school teacher, but in the year 1991, she went to go work for her parents. Valerie learned the old fashion way, on the job training! She answered the phones, filled out the order, she probably did a little bit of everything.
After Rosalie passed away she left Valerie the Classic Caps business. Now Valerie and her brother Frank Rosenbloom, want to keep the vision of their grandfather alive; use American goods, American labor and keep dollars in America! Classic caps have been successful by promoting their Stock Made In the USA. Where they create custom caps all while supporting American workers. they have a variety of colors and all the popular cap styles!
Although being a women entrepreneur has been challenging, being part of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) has made Valerie's journey so much easier. It’s all about Women business owners supporting each other! The WBENC has given Valerie the tools and resources to help achieve not only goals for Classic Caps but her grandfather's dream as well.
